Who Is KBR? Meet the Founder and CEO of Contagion Media
By Marquez Rodriguez
“Artists are multi-faceted individuals who are better off not fitting into any box. My goal was to create a platform for multi-talented artists, like me, that does not limit your creativity but makes art limitless.” -KBR

KBR is a multidisciplinary creative whose work spans photography, music, videography, and graphic design, alongside her role as founder and CEO of Contagion Media. Built on a “by artists, for artists” philosophy, Contagion Media Art Agency exists to support creatives in building sustainable careers through collaboration, strategic development, and access to real opportunities in a highly competitive industry.
Born and raised in Arizona, Kassandra Ramirez, known professionally as KBR, has carried a strong sense of creative direction since early childhood. She spent her formative years making home videos with her siblings, exploring small entrepreneurial ideas, and constantly finding ways to turn creativity into income within her community. Her family played a steady role in that development, consistently encouraging her interests in music, media, and artistic exploration.

In school, she expanded that foundation through choir, media programs, and self-driven photography practice. She later double majored in Photography and Creative Media & Film at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona, where she refined both her technical skills and her understanding of visual storytelling. That period became the early framework for what would eventually grow into Contagion Media, which she founded in 2018.
Initially envisioned as a collaborative space for artists across different mediums, Contagion Media has since evolved into a full agency model. It now helps artists showcase their work, secure paid opportunities, build their brands, and navigate the business side of creative industries.
Since 2018, KBR and Contagion Media have been seen creating with Adobe, Youtube, Ellements Magazine, and many other global creative brands. At its core, the company reflects KBR’s commitment to building infrastructure that allows artists to thrive creatively and financially.
The name KBR comes directly from her full name, Kassandra Brissette Ramirez. It is a name rooted in family use, long before it became her professional identity. After high school, it naturally transitioned into the name used by her close circle, eventually becoming her artist name across all creative and business work.
Today, KBR balances the continued growth of Contagion Media with her own evolving artistic practice. She remains deeply immersed in creative production, often working in long, focused stretches of time. While the agency continues to expand, she is also preparing to step further into her individual artistry, with music becoming an increasingly central focus. KBR describes her unique sound as “psychedelic electro soul pop.” There are even whispers of an upcoming EP, signaling that this next chapter is already in motion.
