Embarking on a journey from sports enthusiast and into a blossoming artist, Josiah proudly describes himself as a ‘jack of all trades’. While club sports dominated his earlier years, the world of arts unfolded at his fingertips during highschool, revealing a latent talent he once doubted. Overcoming youthful skepticism, Josiah is now thriving as a confident and resilient artist, determined to share not only his creative process but also the compelling narrative of his transformative journey. His artistic journey began as he sought a photographer for updated headshots and culinary arts school photos.
While on his search for the perfect photographer, he discovered KBR on Instagram, an artist who recently had collaborated with a close friend of his and he decided to follow her and look through her work. After connecting through direct messages, they were able to set up a shoot together and the experience was both fun and welcoming. Following the delivery of the digitals and physical copies, Josiah was then formally invited to join Contagion Media, Kassandra’s local art agency. The recruitment process during their content day was a fantastic experience, and as Josiah describes, “I am eager to create and grow alongside the captivating individuals fostered by Kassandra and her agency here in Arizona!”

In the absence of my artistic pursuits, I would venture into entrepreneurship. Armed with a diploma in culinary arts and operations, I appreciate the diverse career paths available to me within the expansive realm of the hospitality industry. In terms of having a muse for inspiration, Josiah states he has often drawn information from powerful sermons. In his own words, “Sarah Jakes Roberts serves as my go-to source for motivational devotion, authentically impacting her community. Beyond her online presence, I actively follow her on Instagram and engage with her empowering Women empowerment conferences”.
When asked about what he enjoys the most about his artistic work, he says “My ultimate satisfaction stems from the boundless ideas that take shape in my mind. Whether they lean towards creativity, involve risks, or materialize into something tangible, I relish the process of bringing my imaginative concepts to life”. In terms of other interests he is actively pursuing, Josiah describes that he has a myriad of interests. “In high-school, I was a theater enthusiast, delving into the captivating world of musical theater that seamlessly combined my love for dancing, acting, and a hint of singing. Dancing has been a passion since my early years, often showcasing my skills at family church gatherings. During those church moments, I discovered a fondness for drum playing, taking lessons for a month and eventually contributing to Sunday services at my grandmother’s church. All it takes is a dash of creativity and dedicated practice!”

When asked who is his favorite artist and what are their main pursuits, Josiah claims Zendaya holds the top spot for him in his book. He says, as a versatile talent, she excels as a singer, model and actress. Her journey includes features in VOGUE magazines and appearances at prestigious runway shows for renowned designers like Michael Kors, Schiaparelli, Valentino, and more. Witnessing her evolution from Disney Channel days, where I danced along with her, to becoming the accomplished artist she is today feels truly triumphant! When questioned about what is the most impactful lesson he’s learned as an artist, he states: “The key lesson I’ve absorbed as an artist is the importance of staying prepared, eliminating the need to scramble and prepare when opportunities arise”.
Finally, we asked Josiah what the greatest challenge is in the realm of being an artist and if he can offer any advice to overcome this, and he states the most formidable challenge for an artist lies in resisting the urge to compare oneself to others. To overcome this hurdle, I prioritize authenticity, staying true to my unique self, and embracing others for the way they choose to express themselves. When asked about what we as fans can expect from him in the near future, Josiah says to expect more content, more visuals in a photography setting, more features and potential collabs. When asked his opinion on how art and creativity can change the world, he answered by saying in reshaping the world, art and creativity possess boundless transformative potential, unrestricted by limits.
