Ania Jenise Co. — Black Owned and Sustainable Handbags for iMirage Magazine

Ania Jenise Co. is a vegan luxury handbag and accessory brand with a mission to “inspire women to be strong, bold, and confident about everything they do.” The luxury brand recently collaborated with Contagion Media Art Agency to create compelling content for the release their new “Lexy Bag.” For this project, Ania Jenise Co. chose to work with Contagion Media and landed a publication in issue #1779 of iMirage Magazine.
The editorial titled “Ania Jenise Co. — Black Owned and Sustainable Handbags” features handbags and styling by Ania Jenise and modeling by Zhariah Maxwell. Taking place at Afternoons Studio in Phoenix, AZ, Photographer Outlandaa led the production with writer Marquez Rodriguez and assistance from Cleopatruuh. Photographer Natalie Wheeler also contributed to the project with her impressive photo editing skills.

In the article, designer Ania Jenise shares more about the inspiration behind the brand. “I was carrying a black owned bag one day & received quite a few compliments. Each time, i'm like “thank you it’s a black owned brand” & I was just so proud & decided I wanted to create something for women, but especially women that look like me so they could feel how I felt in that moment.”

In addition to making women feel powerful with fashion, Ania Jenise Co. also focuses on being being sustainable with their designs. “The biggest thing is that it is mostly sustainable from the materials used to make the bags all the way down to our shipping labels and the boxes the inventory come in are recyclable and sustainable materials used. My vision is to have a brand that won’t break your pocket, but still give a luxury look while also helping save the planet a little.”
