Step 1: Hydration

Healthy skin begins from the inside out. Ensuring that your skin is hydrated both internally and topically allows you to start with a canvas that is eager to shine (literally). Dehydrated skin can appear flaky, dull, and emphasize fine lines and wrinkles. Avoiding alcohol and caffeine and drinking the appropriate minimum amount of water for your body weight will help kickstart your radiance.

Step 2: Exfoliation

There are many exfoliants on the market that work well for most. Some are physical (scrubs) and some are categorized as chemical (acids). Regardless of your preferred method, exfoliation is an essential step to skin prep that not only stimulates the cell renewal process in the skin, but also removes any superficial texture. This step allows your products to not only penetrate more deeply but also lay smooth and even. Exfoliating can be done as often as daily with more mild methods, or as little as once a week with more aggressive methods.

Step 3: Moisturize

The most indulgent step of them all, moisturizing. Who doesn't love the feel of lathering their skin in vitamin-packed hydration? Picking a great moisturizer that will maintain supple radiant skin all day is the trick, so here are some tips on picking the best for you. Lighter-weight moisturizers are best for oily skin while heavier creams are best for dry skin. Moisturizers that include antioxidants will give you the best results for a natural glow.

Step 4: Foundation

A luminous foundation can take years off by adding glow back into even the most sallow skin. Applying foundation evenly starting in thin layers will ensure product stability and the most natural finish. Spot concealing only in areas that need it will maintain the skin's translucency.

Step 5: Blush and Bronze

Cream and liquid blushes and bronzers have been around for decades but are finally getting the appreciation they have always deserved. Place bronzer along the areas of the face that the sun would naturally hit such as the perimeter of the forehead, temples, under cheekbones and chin. Apply cream blush to the apples of the cheeks and even lightly across the nose to achieve a natural rosy glow.

Step 6: Highlight

Adding light back into the face is an essential piece to perfecting this makeup look and the cherry on top to glowing skin. Add a liquid or cream highlighter to the high points of the face (I.e. places light would naturally reflect). The brow bone, tops of cheekbones, bridge of nose, and cupid's bow are examples of the high points.

Step 7: Powder

Powdering this look should be done strategically. Place powder only where you tend to get oily or crease, such as under the eyes or T-zone (center of the face). Using a small fluffy brush with a finely milled translucent finishing powder, pat lightly in the desired areas.

Step 8: Finishing Spray

Lock in your look with a final burst of moisture to keep skin radiant. Picking an alcohol free setting spray with glycerin will give a beautiful dewy finish that will last all day. Holding the finishing spray 12” away and lightly and evenly misting the face will yield the best results.

Finish the look with your desired hydrating lip product. You have officially completed your dewy skin look! Now, go out there and captivate the world with your beauty!
