Brazyl’s journey as a model started with nervousness and negativity, both obstacles that many artists face. “I was very nervous about this step in my life, because I’ve always been confident, but never wanting to be the center of attention.” Thanks in part to the support of her parents, siblings and boyfriend, she stayed determined and pursued modeling, focusing on print and runway.

“I just wanted the space to be me, freely, without judgment or interference,” says Brazyl, who has collaborated with many artists to produce high-quality, emotion-evoking photos and videos. “My favorite part about what I do is being able to express myself through my body and fashion. I love being able to be me with no care about repercussions.”

Brazyl has learned three powerful lessons from modeling, which artists of all experience levels can learn from. First and foremost, she emphasizes that passion for a project does not shield it from diverse interpretations and reactions. In her words, “Many different people can interpret art differently and all of those ways are valid. Art isn’t linear and art isn’t meant to be.” It can be gut-wrenching to receive criticism about your art, however, Brazyl has learned that having a support system is important for success, both in good times and bad. “They’ve all been extremely supportive of me throughout my journey and were there when I wanted to stop for a while.”

Brazyl Guerrido has learned that stepping outside your craft can make you well-rounded as an artist and also prevent burnout. Dance, painting, and music are her other creative passions, providing a balance. She has learned that as a model, it is important to not get so consumed in modeling that you forget to focus on other areas of your life. Brazyl also continues to pursue her passion for dance on the Arizona-based K-POP dance team, Zone A.

Brazyl’s main inspiration is none other than the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. My favorite music album of all time is “Invincible” by Michael Jackson. I feel it’s one of the greatest RnB albums ever made and it’s extremely underrated.” Brazyl often incorporates music into her work. You can catch Brazyl showing off her modeling and acting skills in the “Quédate” music video by Erick Grillo, produced by Contagion Media.

Brazyl emphasizes the importance for models to collaborate with photographers, designers, brands and other models. “You get to hear many opinions, viewpoints, and perspectives. Collaboration helps keep people open-minded.” says Brazyl. She shares that meeting other creatives helped her break out of her shell.

Determined and goal-oriented, Brazyl looks ahead with excitement. She promises fans more captivating work and increased activity on her socials. Artistically, her aspirations include evolving as a print and runway model and collaborating with major brands like Target, Adidas and Nike.

"I love being able to have fun and express my happiness through pictures. It's really beautiful to me," shares Brazyl. While she may not be on the path to becoming a mortician, a career choice she contemplated before modeling, Brazyl now creates breathtaking art and continues to inspire others to do the same.
