“Creative, Mindful, Spirited:” Alicia Amberg

The rest of the story is told through the lighting, background, what's in focus, and the editing the artist applies to their work.We have all seen how photographers can tell beautiful stories with their pictures, but we do not often see animated and spirited stories expressed through photographs. Our journey here unravels Alicia Amberg’s story, as we discover inside her creative genius mind.

Her journey into the world of artistic creativity and later photography began when she was only five years of age. She was able to accomplish many feats in this pivotal time in her life. From having learnt her first song on her piano, to having her first painting framed to having her first song recorded, she was the definition of an artistic legend in the form of a child.
Alicia Amberg is a full-time mom and entrepreneur from the heart of Buckeye, Arizona who is a strong and driven. Constantly trying to grow as a person, Alicia is always learning new skills and pushing herself to expand in all areas of her life. One thing that makes her stand out is her dedication towards growth.
One of the biggest challenges she has faced in her artistic journey is her Bipolar 1 and other health issues that play a role in hindering her creativity everyday. She at times feels that she has parts of herself that she has no control over due to these conditions that she has. Due to her fluctuation in having ups and downs, her artwork reflects this. She struggles with being consistent, yet some might call constantly changing and expanding themselves the true skill of an artist to — undergo various forms of life experiences. One thing she remains strong in even with her challenges is her desire to bring creativity in every way she can incorporate in her life.

After many years of experience being an artist, her advice to aspiring artists, like herself, would be “do not compare yourself with other artists”. She believes that “while it is always wise to look at history and explore others’ art, the only person you should compare your art to is yourself.” This is a crucial and powerful statement to make. She truly embodies her strong belief in growth and looking within yourself to see how far you have come, not by the standards of society or others around you.

Another word of wisdom that Alicia gives is that “perfection is the expectation of our imagination and only we can define our worth”. This statement right here displays her righteousness as a creative artist that speaks from a high level of awareness. The imperfections is what builds art to where it is now. If it was always about following rules and only having symmetry, art would not be the creatic expansion it has been given the chance to be.
Alicia goes on to say that her favorite artist is Shannon Alldredge, who also happens to be her mentor. She genuinely connects with Shannon on a deep level and speaks high volumes of her. She truly believes that part of the reason she has come so far is due to Shannon’s influence and crucial role in her life. Shannon has taught Alicia in various artistic forms ranging from photography, entrepreneurship, motherhood, writing and many more.
Alicia’s future lies strong as she dedicates more of her time to her business Cozy Castings LLP. She is full of excitement to see how this new creative journey unfolds for her. Another thing Alicia is keen on pursuing forward is creative shoots and events through Tartesso Photography Collective. She believes this will help her further in her photography and modeling journey. Not only does she create stunning images, she is also a writer! She wishes to create more of her written work in the upcoming future as well.
With all said, it is fair to acknowledge that Alicia is a superwoman when it comes to creativity. Her unique gifts, her view of the world and her deep inquisitive nature is far greater than artists before her. Her fuel is her creativity and that to her is the essence of what it means to be a human having this multidimensional experience. She holds no limits and her imagination is an open book with infinite potential. Her drive, her ambition and her youthfulness will carry her to conquer many great defeats in this lifetime as an artist. Ultimately, she is a creator and that is how the world will continuously address her. We are excited to see what is next for Alicia Amberg, as she explores the many unknowns of creativity that await her curious mind.
