Form, Process, Feeling: Jewelry by Ky Dio | Fashion Documentary
Contagion Media recently spent time with Ky Dio, an Arizona-based jeweler, fabricator, photographer, and installation artist, to document her process and perspective in a mini documentary centered on her work.
Ky begins simply, saying, “I just really want to make jewelry I’ve never seen before.” Her work stands out not only in what it looks like, but in how it is made. Unlike many jewelers, she is involved in every step of the process herself, including fabrication, shaping each piece from start to finish.

There is also a clear focus on sourcing and sustainability, something she speaks about with pride and intention. The materials she chooses and the way she works reflect a slower, more deliberate approach, where each decision is part of the larger whole.
Ky Dio’s jewelry journey is also deeply personal. Ky has relied on her art as a way to process grief, giving emotional experience a physical form. What she is moving through internally often shows up in the work itself, becoming tangible pieces.
Produced by KBR and Filmed/Styled by Leslie Knox, this documentary also features editorial footage by Contagion Media featuring ALEXIA (Model), Chantel Hardison (Makeup), EJ Mañón (Photography) and Lousy Rich Cosmetics.

For artists and brands looking to tell stories with this level of depth and honesty, Contagion Media creates mini documentaries that translate creative process into film, helping people connect with the meaning behind the work in a way that feels real, visual, and lasting.
